Learn Hands-Only CPR Training and Save a Life! It’s FREE at Family Fest!

GONZALES, La. – Baton Rouge Cardiology Center (BRCC) will offer free “Hands-Only” cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training at the Our Lady of the Lake Ascension’s 2020 Family Fest 2020 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to the American Heart Association, about 90 percent of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die. CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.

BRCC’s goal is to teach Hands-Only CPR to as many people as possible at the event.

“We’re pleased to support the American Heart Association and its important mission to increase survival from cardiac arrest,” said Evens Rodney, board-certified cardiologist at Baton Rouge Cardiology Center. ” We’re asking all members within our community to please take one minute of your day to learn the lifesaving skills of Hands-Only CPR.”

Baton Rouge Cardiology Center is reaching out to other groups and community events to provide teaching opportunities. Please call Erica Lundgren at 225-214-7525 to schedule training. Learn more about Hands-Only CPR from the American Heart Association.
