Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) are Advanced Practice Providers who work collaboratively with our physicians to provide comprehensive cardiology care for our patients. As clinicians that blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with an added emphasis on disease prevention and health management, NPs and PAs bring a comprehensive perspective to health care. NPs and PAs are licensed medical professionals who can prescribe medication, examine patients, diagnose illnesses, and provide treatment, much like physicians do. Our NPs and PAs practice both in our offices and in the hospitals.
Baton Rouge Cardiology Center’s NPs hold a master’s or doctoral degree and are licensed by the Board of Nursing practicing under the guidelines of the Board of Medicine. Our PAs hold a master’s degree and are licensed by the Board of Medicine.
