St. James Parish Hospital and Baton Rouge Cardiology Center Host Cardiology Meet and Eat Event

St. James Parish Hospital (SJPH) and Baton Rouge Cardiology Center (BRCC) hosted a Cardiology Meet and Eat event to introduce Baton Rouge Cardiology Center’s newest cardiologists to the community, Dr. Benjamin Kilpatrick and Dr. Steven Malosky.

Mary Ellen Pratt, CEO of SJPH, and Dr. Darrin Breaux welcomed the two new cardiologists to the community and spoke about their experience and qualifications. Dr. Kilpatrick and Dr. Malosky are cardiologists who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease.

Dr. Malosky earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in Philadelphia, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Malosky completed his internship in internal medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and his residency in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease fellowship, and interventional cardiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Dr. Kilpatrick was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors (Summa Cum Laude). He then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at Shreveport, Louisiana. He completed his internal medicine residency at USF Health Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, Florida.

After the introductions, Dr. Malosky gave a presentation on heart health. He discussed the risk factors for heart attack and stroke, as well as the importance of early detection and treatment.

The event was well-attended by members of the community who were interested in learning more about heart health and the services offered by St. James Parish Hospital and Baton Rouge Cardiology Center. Dr. Breaux, Dr. Kilpatrick, and Dr. Malosky were all available to answer questions and provide information about their practice.
